my HG foundation! finally!

I have always been on a lookout for a foundation good enough for my oily/combination skin. It has not been easy because in addition to oily/combi, my skin is also sensitive. I get breakouts from products very frequently & as a result, I have never repurchased any foundation. None of them are good enough for me to call it my HG .. Until my sister gave me a bottle of Chanel Mat Lumiere Foundation SPF15. I'm pleasantly surprised to realize that, after so many years, my color is still 20 Clair. I had given up on Chanel because she has recently failed me on her two way, creme and teint innocence liquid foundation.

Mat lumiere has medium coverage and stays matte on my face, requiring blotting only once in midday (I use Urban Decay's De-slick Mattifying Powder, with compliments from my DH).






My regime:
Cleanse --> SKII Facial Treatment Essence 
I love this! I've tried more than 10 products from SKII and none of them are worth my repurchasing except this FTE and another Vitamin C serum). I have been using the FTE since 2004/2005. Thanks to my bestie Dave, who helped me get these from all avenues so I get the best discounts all the time.


--> Peter Thomas Roth Anti-Aging Cellular Eye Repair Gel
I got this from my husband who works in Sephora. I like this. A little goes a long way. 


--> Chanel's Pureté Idéale Serum 
I got this free from my sister who works in Chanel.  Unlike most serum which is translucent-gel-like, this serum is creamy but absorbs fast. It also has a very sweet flora smell.



or --> Chanel Hydramax Active Serum
Again from my sister but I paid for this, a discounted staff price of approximately SGD80 if i remember correctly. 

--> Bare Minerals Hydrate & Nourish Moisturizer
I got this again from my husband.  This moisturizer is fine and thin, good for my oily/combi skin, day and night. 

--> Laura Mercier Foundation Primer or Smashbox Photo Finish Hydrating Primer
Very expensive primers, but they works great! with them, my foundation does not oxidise. 

--> Chanel Mat Lumiere Foundation SPF15

--> And, last but not least, MAKE UP FOR EVER HD Microfinish Powder HD Microfinish Powder To Go
This is also a gift from my husband. I use this with a huge kabuki-like face brush and apply using the swirling method. Easy to use and though white, is totally transparent on my face.  I only need very little to set my foundation on my entire face and the after effect is a matt and smooth face. I give this a 9/10. I'm pretty sure I will repurchase this. It is by far the best finishing power I have used. 


Jeez! That really seems like a lot on my face .. but I'm enjoying every moment of it and looks forward to making up every morning, even when I was running late for work!  I love how my face no longer breaks out, except the occasional pimples along my jawline during the time-of-time-month .. and when that happens, this helps, always: Tea-Free Oil from Thursday Plantation (SGD13++ from Guardian Pharmacy)

Should I or Should I Not?

Its going to be the year of the Horse next, one which is good for Vince & I.  I definitely cannot afford Dr Loh's private practice anymore.  Haven spoken to Irene, I decided not to procrastinate and simply pick up the phone and rang KKH. 

It turned out I had a missed appointment on 9 Apr 2012 with Dr Sadhana.  Oh well, it was never in my mind to attend. Anyway I am lucky the next appointment is 9 May, 3:15pm.  Hope Vince can accompany me, and I hope I can get something out of this trip.  I am gearing towards a 2nd IVF, and I will start praying.
